What is Codec Pack?
codec is a computer program that both shrinks large movie files, and makes them playable on your computer. Codec programs are required for your media player to play your downloaded music and movies. Some of the common codecs: MP3, WMA, RealVideo, RealAudio, DivX, XviD etc. There are many other more obscure codecs.
How do I use Best Codec Pack?
Best Codecs Pack is based on FFDShow and Haali Splitter: FFDShow is a free codec package that contains instructions for efficiently decoding and displaying a wide range of video and audio formats. FFDShow does not include a media player application; rather the package installs procedures that are used by your computer's existing media player to display media. You can designate which file formats should use FFDShow codecs during FFDShow installation. Haali Media Splitter is a MKV, MP4, M2TS, OGM/OGG, MPEG TS and AVI container decoder/splitter. mkv2vfr included, convert mkvs with variable framerate to constant framerate. GDSMux/DS Mux included also, a simple mkv/m2ts multiplexer and cutter.
